G.C.E. Advanced Level - Biology Stream

Overview

I was admitted to Royal College, Colombo 7 through the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, earning a rank high enough to qualify for Royal - traditionally among the toughest cut-offs for boys' schools in Sri Lanka. Royal College is one of the oldest and most prestigious schools not just in Sri Lanka but in Asia: founded in 1835 as the Hill Street Academy, renamed Royal College by royal decree of Queen Victoria in 1881, and home to the Battle of the Blues - the annual cricket encounter against S. Thomas' College that began in 1879 and remains one of the longest continuously played cricket fixtures in the world. From the Advanced Level, I earned a merit rank that secured me a place in the country's most competitive undergraduate course, Medicine, at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.
